We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as Project Officer. This position will be under a full-time 1-year contract with potential for extension, preferably based in Hanoi.

 

Position summary

We are seeking a motivated and qualified Vietnamese professional to support our work in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Climate Change Adaptation (CCA), and Urban Resilience. The candidate will contribute to project implementation, coordination, technical support, and stakeholder engagement across multi-sectoral initiatives. This position will report to the Project Manager / Technical Lead.

 

Responsibilities

 

Project Coordination & Implementation

  • Lead day-to-day coordination with local partners, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of project activities, including planning, scheduling and follow-up.
  • Coordinate project activities, timelines, and deliverables across teams and partners
  • Support the design, preparation, and organization of workshops, roundtables, and consultations
  • Support documentation of lessons learned, good practices, and project results
  • Contribute to project reporting, knowledge products, and communication materials

 

Technical Support

  • Assist the Technical Lead to provide appropriate guidance, coaching and advice to local partners on the implementation of climate resilience/adaptation, disaster risk reduction and disaster recovery activities.
  • Contribute technical inputs, background research, and analysis to support project design and implementation
  • Perform other duties and tasks at the request of the organization.

Requirements

Education & Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, water resources management, urban planning, or related disciplines.
  • A Master’s degree is an advantage.

 

Professional Experience

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in international funded projects related to disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, water resources management, sustainable urban development and/or urban resilience.
  • Experience in project coordination and implementation
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, communities, and private sector actors
  • Exposure to proposal development or project design is an advantage
  • Experience in post-disaster recovery, housing, or livelihoods projects is a plus

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Willingness to work on multi-tasks from technical to operational, networking and communication.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team, with a proactive and responsible attitude
  • Good facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience and skills in GIS tools is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point) and other relevant project management tools.
  • Fluency in written and spoken in English and Vietnamese.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to project locations.
